my xmas pressies

Its a year of pleasant surprises. here are some highlights of what i got from my fellow friends and colleagues.
A "too big cum too pretty cum too cute" handphone strap from a colleague. After just hours of using it, the "hanger" came off. Its now in my drawer.... starting to collect dust.

A gift from TONY.. As the box describes, its a equipment that helps the owner to understand the dog language. sound so interesting and innovative huh. I have not tried this yet but its supposed to be able to interpret barks, etc.

An australian x'mas socks filled with goodies like chocolate, chewy, lollies and nescafe cafe menu coffees.

We Once Were You And Me

It's not that I am not over you. I have been healthily over you for some years now.

I once loved you. That love lasted forever.

Forever came and went in six years, and I spent a little while trying to trace where I left from. Then I forgot. Then you texted me one fine afternoon (that wasnt a surprise sms, we had been on constant contac but we have not seen each other) and asked if I was available on that day, and for the first time in some years, I looked back and I saw where I came from.

You once loved me. Your love lasted forever.

The push and pull has not stopped since we met up. But it doesn't jolt me, it lulls. We might have been you and me once.

And what wounds time heals, what kisses time also conceals.

FLY AWAY

I simply love this song. its great... jus listen.

night safari

after the company xmas dinner @ the Vil'lage, my colleagues and I head down to the NIGHT SAFARI.

Thank God for supporting our "virgin" trip (except for sharon. she's a frequent guest there!) to this toursit attraction. He blessed us with a cooling weather.

The ngiht safari will close at 12 midnight thus we were running against time to complete the whole place. We caught the animal show (its very entertaining), took the tram (we came up close and personal with many animals like ant eater, deers) and walked through the fishcat & leopard trail. Too bad, we did not have time to finish two other trails.

A morning with Y STARS

What does YSTARS stands for? its means Y Special Teens, Arts & Recreation Society". It's a small group of young people who are intellectually challenged.

The theme for this programme was "Xmas tree Decoration". Its my (and many other volunteers) 1st time getting so close with intellectually disabled youth. Honestly, I was alittle afraid.. Yes, the fear of not being able to handle them, the fear of not being able to talk to them. Luckily the staff and parents were helpful, they briefed us on the "dos and donts" and what to expect.

Suddenly, I heard a loud "pong, pong, pong!". Its a normal looking girl, aged 9. However, she was deprived of oxygen during birth thus her brain is damaged. She could not speak but I can see that she looked forward to this "gathering". Next came Ben. He was really funny. He introduced himself as Aaron Kwok and imitated his singing and dance steps. Next came (erm.. I forget his name), he introduce himself as JJ. Most of them (with an average IQ of 60 to 70) enjoy singing and dancing; and they do not seem to have stage fright (though there isnt a stage, virtually)!

On my table, there were 5 volunteers to 2 YStars. 1 is Ben and the other is Stephanie. Stephanie is much more quiet and very deep in thoughts. Not to intimate them, we kicked off with the easiest xmas decoration: the making of the ball. We get them to chose their colours and started painting. However after this, they were not interested in making the rest, they wanted to draw and write. We respected them. On the paper, they wrote about their hobbies and what they like. Though they got some spelling mistakes, we could understand what they were trying to say.

Its time to hang the ornaments (though most of them were made by the volunteers).

We moved on to xmas carols! the Ystars were clapping and "la-la-ing" while we, volunteers, sing. They were spontaneous.

Even its only a 2 hours session, I really enjoyed it. It made me realised that if there is hope, anything is possible. I will sure go for my 2nd round!

a comment left by a friend

by Don..... - "Every single person out there, travels on a route to destiny. Some lose their way, some lose hope. Some struggle hard but come to naught. Some forget their own purposes and goals. Some don't really care, only living life each day, being happy. Some tried too hard. Yet there are some who tried their best, fallen, and picked themselves up to try again and again. Dreams and Hopes Vs Reality and Practicality. Which will you choose? To lead a life of cheerfulness and optimism yet naive and gullible. Or to be scornful, cynical and untrusting yet realistic and practical. Sometimes i think i walk this fine line too far and for too long, cause in trying to judge and balance my life, i lose track of myself, my beliefs. I'm not truly me, not truly them, just so alone and wandering. Some crossroads once reached, there will be no turning back, no way to reverse, the door is closed. I have reached that crossroads in life, god, bless me, lead me to my destiny, for better or worse. I want to be contented with myself, to live this life happily. I will start loving myself. Only when one is satisfied with oneself, only then can that person give his best to the other half. Only by giving one's all and everything, without hesitation, without regrets, without fail, only unconditional love and commitment, that's what love should and really be.........."

the final send off

It was raining on the last day of funeral. We gathered at the altar to chant for the last time. While chanting, we were asked to walk around the coffin. At this moment, i felt alittle sad. Sad that I will not be able to see this old lady the next time I visit the temple. We moved on to the Mandai Cremation and Columbarium. Its my 1st time in this place. The most overwhelming part was when we were at the viewing hall. The coffin auotmatically move towards the furnace. This process was a little disturbing. I could not bare to see it go into the furnace thus I bend down my head with my hands clasped together and just wish that my grandma will be well in the other land.

Goodbye Grandma...

this news came to me while I was still in K.L. Since it was during the peak season, most of the bus ticket were fully booked thus I could not rush back. She passed away peacefully (with cardial failure) on 10 Nov 2007. I could only make a trip down to the funeral on the following day and co-incidentally, my parents were out of town. After my mother broke the news to me, she told me a rather surprising or "eerie" dream she had. The night before she passed away, my mother dreamt that my grandma (with the healthy look) was standing at our gate waving goodbye to her. (hair standing??)

She's always been a very friendly elderly. Though I am not very close to her (and most of the time, I could not understand what she is talking abt), I can feel that her motherly warm-ness oozing out everytime I see her. Moreover, she is a sincere old lady. Not to sound mean, I felt that its a relief for her to leave this world as she's been ill for quite some time. Like I mentioned earlier in my blog, she was on tube and very frailed looking.

Today was a tiring day. I was an errand gal by day and praying gal by night. Well, by quoting "night" is really a big discount. We have been performing the rituals from 9am to 9pm. I was able to "escape" by helping my aunts to get somethings.

Honey Garlic Pork Ribs

Instead of baking cakes, I used the oven to bake some honey garlic pork ribs for dinner. The "Today's" paper gave me the inspiration. I changed the recipe alittle to make it more "chinese". The making is rather simple. All you need is
  1. 1/2 cup of liquid honey
  2. 2 tsp of brown sugar
  3. 2 clove garlic, minced
  4. 1 tbsp of dark soya sauce
  5. 1 tbsp of light soya sauce
  6. 2 tsp of rice white vinger
  7. 1 tsp of oyster sauce
  8. Not forgetting, 1 kg of prok ribs (fat removed)
Method
Preheat the oven to 180 degree celius
In a large bowl, mixed all the ingredients together. Once the mixture is ready, place the ribs in to marinate.
Place the marinated ribs on the foiled baking tray and bake for about 45 mins. (turn the ribs every 15mins and gazed the excess mixture)

What an evening...

Tears rolled down on my cheeks twice.. within just a short span of 4 hours. Don't worry my friends, no one bullied me.
The 1st incident that moved me: While waiting for the train, I watched a POSB commerical. That advertisement showed two school children waiting in the bus stop for the rain to stop. They were so happy when they saw their mother coming to their "rescue" with an umbrella. You must be wondering: "hey, what does this got to do with Denise?" oh yes... its relates to me, totally.
Recently, I walked my dog and suddenly, it started drizzling. I was an idiot for continuing to STROLL without a sense of emergency. Soon, it rained so Dash and me ran and ran to the nearest bus stop to wait for the rain to stop. We took a seat at the shelter and I told Dash, "We are going to be stuck here for some time." Miraculously.. I saw a plump auntie waving her hands fanatically from the opposite side of the road. I took a second glance, it was my mother. I was sooo touched as she made the effort to bring a simple umbrella. Why did salt water well in my eyes? because I wasnt carrying my mobile plus my mother told me that she just "felt that I would be there". Honestly, there were really many routes that I might take. It was the "linkage" within us that brought us together. At that moment, I was so sure that my mother is so great.. she will be there for me EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME.
2nd incident: It happened on the bus I took from Tampines back to my place. An old couple sat in front of me. The uncle smell like he just walked out of the bathroom. The smell so fresh and light, so familiar yet so far. my tears rolled down because I missed three people whom had a place in my heart very much. I missed their warmth, their voices, their jokes, their cooking but I wondered if they will remember me. (Well, I guess that doesnt matter.. as long as they gave me sweet memories). Sometimes, I have the urge to look for one of them just to say "hi" and ask how are they doing.

Why Men Love Bitches

We gathered together for Wendy's ROM and my beloved friend gave me a present (O.O) with a condition - to open it up later. Though its wrapped up I knew that it was a book (becos of the shape) and it cant be a stack of $100 notes right. hahaha. When I'm back home (with her and another friend), she asked me to open up. Ahhh.. It’s the book "Why men love bitches". Please dont misunderstand my friend's kind intention. She did not want me to become or behave as a bitch, literally. She told me that the book was suitable for me.. well, thanks for the compliment (cos she feels that I am not a bitch). haha :D. This book doesnt teach you to get other peeps' boyfriends, it just tells you to be more confident of yourself, understand yourself and most importantly, to know how to love yourself before loving others. Erm.. I know that this statement of mine is rather short for the book of over 200 pages. Not to worry folks, I will not take it too seriously nor I will read it as a bedtime story book. ( I guess if i read it too leisurelly, quek will kill me). Once i finish reading and analysising it, i will do a simple summary and share with every1. And oh yes "THANK YOU, QUEK! I Lup you" muacks muacks. (hee x 3)

Dash favourite game

Dash love playing "balls". When you say, "ball", dash will look around the area for either the tennis ball or his rubber ball. Once he found it, h will wiggle his tail so hard that its like a mini fan when you are behind it. He will also pull back his ears .. these are the expressions to show that he's very happy and would like to play with you.

YMCA celebrates 105 years

the event took place in botanica gardens. Since quek and I were there earlier, we took our stroll in the park. Oh yes, I drag quek to this event but luckily she din curse and swear. Let's give her 3 cheers: Hip hip hurray x3. We were asked to help out as guest ushers - to stand at designated spots and direct all the Guest to the event location. Honestly, its kind of boring (and very tiring on our poor feet). I started to daydream abit then a middle aged man came up to me and asked me, "do you know who you are supposed to usher?" I was like (O.o) and "huh?". Aiyo.. he's the director of YMCA posing to me such a question and I was tongue tied. Anyway, he laughed it off when i could not answer him.

Laugther is the best medicine

My little brother never fails to entertain me. Though the jokes arent originated by him, the two below were funny enoughto make me want to share with others. here goes...

JOKE 1:
Deaf Genie

A man walks into a bar with a paper bag. He sits down and places the bag on the counter. The bartender walks up and asks what's in the bag.

The man reaches into the bag and pulls out a little man, about one foot high, and he sets him on the counter. He reaches back into the bag and this time pulls out a small piano, setting it on the counter as well. He reaches into the bag once again and pulls out a tiny piano bench, which he placed in front
of the piano.

The little man sits down at the piano and starts playing a beautiful piece by Mozart.

"Where on earth did you get him?" Says the bartender.

The man responded by reaching into the paper bag. This time he pulls out a magic lamp. He hands it to the bartender and says: "Here Rub it."

So the bartender rubs the lamp, and suddenly there's a gust of smoke, then a beautiful blonde genie is standing before him. "I will grant you one wish. Just one wish ... each person is only allowed one!"

The bartender got real excited. Without hesitating he said, "I want a million bucks!"

A few moments later, a duck walks into the bar. It is soon followed by another duck, then another. Pretty soon, the entire bar is filled with ducks and they kept coming.

The bartender turns to the man and says, "Y'know, I think your genie's a little deaf. I asked for a million bucks, not a million ducks."

"I know," says the man, "do you really think I asked for a 12 inch pianist?"

Joke 2: Someone really stinks

A young couple were on their honeymoon. The husband was sitting in the bathroom on the edge of the bathtub saying to himself, "Now how can I tell my wife that I've got really smelly feet and that my socks absolutely stink? I've managed to keep it from her while we were dating, but she's bound to find out sooner or later that my feet stink. Now how do I tell her?"

Meanwhile, the wife was sitting in the bed saying to herself, "Now how do I tell my husband that I've got really bad breath? I've been very lucky to keep it from him while we were courting, but as soon as he's lived with me for a week, he's bound to find out. Now how do I tell him gently?"

The husband finally plucks up enough courage to tell his wife and so he walks into the bedroom. He walks over to the bed, climbs over to his wife, puts his arm around her neck, moves his face very close to hers and says, "Darling, I've a confession to make."

And she says, "So have I, love."

To which he replies, "Don't tell me, you've eaten my socks."

Orange Cupcakes with Icing

Sounds delicious isit? I decided to make cupcakes after some reports on the papers that its getting popular nowadays. Moreover I need a break from baking muffins.

Orange Cupcakes

Ingredients

1 and 3/4 cup cake flour

1/2 cup orange juice (preferrably with REAL juice)

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

2 large eggs separated (i used 3 medium eggs)

113 grams of unsalted butter (I used maragine. Its healthier)

1 cup castor sugar

Method

Preheat your oven to 180degrees celicus

Combine butter, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Cream these ingredients together thoroughly.

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together in a separate mixing bowl. Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients 1/3 at a time alternating with adding portions of the orange juice to the creamed mixture.

Fold in beaten egg whites. Spoon batter into cupcake liners until 1/2 full.

Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

How about the icing? Its very easy. just mix a cup of icing sugar with 2 tablespoon of maragine and 2 teaspoon of orange juice together with a tablespoon of orange zest and ABRACADABRA!!! you got your own icing.

romance stucks

I'm sharing some humorous love / marriage quotes I found on the web

1st quote by
Anonymous -
Marriage is three ring cirus: engagement ring, wedding ring, suffer-ring. (guess this author isnt too happy about his/her marriage but i was giggling when i read this)

Then I saw this quote by Woody Allen,
Love and Death- "To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down." (I was reading this quote over and over again to get it.. but i do not really get it. if i am not wrong.. he is trying to tell us to LOVE)

Got another joker - La Rochefoucauld wrote: True love is like seeing ghosts; we all talk about it, but few of us have ever seen one. (this quote, i thought, was good. Honestly, I felt that I never truly love someone because of somethings I done that many people deem that its not love.) Thus I tot this quote by Mae West ticklish -"Do not marry a man to reform him. That is what reform schools are for."

Other funny quotes by anonymous:
"When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: either the car is new or the wife is.
"

"Man is better off than woman; he marries later and dies sooner."

Sprinkle some sugar to my room

Its time to tidy up my wardrobe becos I do not want people to find "skeletons" in my closet. Oh yes, Ikea is a supporter for some green efforts to reduce waste so remember to bring your plastic bags on your next shopping trip.

This is a rather useful trousers hanger because 1st, it allows me to hang 5 pants. Plus, I do not need to re-iron my trousers as I usually fold and stack them together.

Next, I got myself more than a dozen of these woody and hardy hangers. Instead of seeing different type of hangers (in terms of colour and material) in my cupboard, now I have a more uniformed look in my closet. However, its not enough!

Is it some screen or what? Neh.. Its a scarf cum tie cum "loose accesories" hanger. It looks pretty isnt it? Well, though I do not own that many "around the neck" accessories, I do find it interesting to own.

I did not leave Ikea without having their meat balls and chicken wings! hehehe.

The lessons I learnt so far..

I've learnt
Not to put a full stop to everything. You never know when you will turn back or have a surprising & pleasing U-turn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I travelled with someone I dislike during my teen years. The trip made me realised that the person wasnt that bad afterall. I gave myself a chance to know her again. hmm.. all along, it was ME who stopped myself from doing things.

I've learnt
to reintroduce myself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During these few months, the new people I met and the new things I done made me realised that I have stopped living for myself for sometime. I am slowly understanding myself.

I've learnt
Life isnt always fair (but that doesnt mean I'll go into some self-bashing or depression).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone has their rough times (either a lost of a job, friend or relationship, anxiety over the future or just full of crummy situations).
While it is easy to complain about all of the ways these situations we face bring us down, it is more beneficial (I think) to look at the ways in which they didn't break you.

I've learnt we cannot always get what we want / planned

It seems that there is someone of a higher power to determine the route I planned to take. I though that everything was going smoothly but suddenly something would just pop out and it will change or delay the process. Its frustrating sometimes but its really beyond your control. you know what I mean. I am still learning to accept rejection, learning to reject acceptance and still learning to accept not to change the people who are or going to be closed to me.

Yogurt, honey & nuts muffin

Its my baking day again! This time, I tried something healthy. It got this recipe from a cookbook I borrowed from my colleague.

Ingredients:
55g butter
5 Tbsp clear honey
250ml plain yogurt (I used peach yogurt)
1 large egg (I used two small eggs)
65ml lemon juice
140g plain flour
170g wholemeal flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cinnamon

Method:
Preheat the oven to 180degree celisus
In a saucepan, melt the butter and honey. Remove from hea and set aside to cool slighty
In bowl, whisk togehter the yogurt, eff, lemon juice. Add the butter and honey mixture. Set aside.
In another bowl, sift together the dry ingredients (I sift twice)
Fold the dry ingredient into the yogurt mixture to blend,
Fill the prepared cups two third full and bake for 20-25 mins or until its golden brown.

Salt water wells in my eyes

I visited my aged grandma. . my mother's maternal mother @ TTSH. After seeing her on the bed, I realised that she has aged SOO much and she lost lotz of weight. She looked frail. My tears almost rolled down my cheeks but I told myself that I had to control. I could not understand what she's saying but its heartening to know that she recognised me.

She had two "boxing gloves" tied to both of her hands. Isnt that abuse? Neh.. the nurses got to do this to her bcos she didnt want to be fed via tube. she got no choice but to be fed this way bcos the doctors are afraid that if she continue having solid food, she may get chest infections.

She always gave either my mother or me the look to help her to get the two gloves out but of course we did not remove it.

Flash back

RETRO is the theme for my company 2007 D&D. I have been brainstorming since last week. I shopped @ River Island, Daniel Yam, Mango, Zara... but I saw nothing refreshing UNTIL i talked to a friend who gave me some ideas.

Should I impersonate the sexiest woman of the century? The white, pleated Deluxe Marilyn Monroe dress defines the seductive style of this silver screen siren. A realistic replica of the dress as seen in the film, 'The Seven Year Itch'. I need to get the wig too. Sounds very interesting, isnt it? 1st I must find a place that rent such clothes 2nd, if i can carry this look.

Another idea- to look like this Soda Pop gal. this look seems easier to create cos I have wavy hair too. Guess I just need to source out the places. Sunday seems to be a good day to go costume hunting! Actually I was thinking of looking for dresses that are inspired from the movie "HAIRSPRAY". To look like on of the character, I need to get my hair done with lots of hairspray sprinkled onto my hair to get the BIG look. if not.. get a wig.

Dash's "best" friend

Kitty was the 1st pet in our house. She's a stray cat however she possesses some wit. After being the dominant for more than 1 year, she got a new addition: DASH. However, Dash doesnt welcome Kitty. He would chase her and bark at her. He will not stop unless Kitty leaves the house. He will be then satisfied. Jealous freak, isn't he? Well, guess all dogs are possessive.
However, when its Breakfast time, they are very friendly to each other. No scratching or growling at all. One of Dash's favourite past-time is to look at Kitty while she's having her breakfast.

Look at him.. doesnt the expression oozed out the "greediness" in him? My dad managed to train him well enough to sit opposite Kitty to observed her quietly. His reward would be some treats from Kitty's breakfast.

Born to try - Delta Goodrem

I chanced upon this song on Class 95 while on my way back home. The lyrics gave me a little comfort of some hiccups in life recently.

Thru the hicupps I realised something abt the term "Friends". The longer the friendship doesnt mean that the understanding is there. Some change while some grow together with you. I believe communication and same wave length are important in a long term friendship. Yes, everyone has their own opinion so I cant expect them to be the same as me. I'm happy to find that a couple who truly understand and are supportive of me.

Born to try
Doing everything that I believe in
Going by the rules that Ive been taught
More understanding of whats around me
And protected from the walls of love

All that you see is me
And all I truly believe

[chorus: start
That I was born to try
Ive learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But youve got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes youve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try
[chorus]: end

No point in talking what you should have been
And regretting the things that went on
Lifes full of mistakes, destinies and fate
Remove the clouds look at the bigger picture

And all that you see is me
And all I truly believe

[chorus]

All that you see is me
All I truly believe
All that you see is me
And all I truly believe

[chorus]

But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes youve got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

St James

Went to St James with an enthusiastic feeling becos its my 1st time going with xiuyi and her groups of friends. Perhaps I was high on expectation thus did not really enjoy becos of the company i guess. Moreover the staff @ Powerhouse were rather slow in retuning my member card and the change. Putting aside the lousy comments, the queue was rather short for members. We were able to get into Dragonfly within 5 mins!

Hmm..

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is comforting. You crave a relationship where you always feel warmth and love.

Your risk of cheating is low. Even if you're tempted, you'd try hard not to do it.

You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.

In this moment, you think of love as something you don't need. You just feel like flirting around and playing right now.

Swimming, one of Dash's favourite sport. He hasn't been into the waters for quite sometime. Blame it on myself, been rather lazy. He loves retrieving things (i.e. water bottles, rubber ball) I threw to the sea (Dont worry, i'm not littering).

The outing starts of with walking through the linkway between Mandarin Gardens & Neptune Court. Dash will usually get his "business" done, sniff sniff around. The linkway will bring us to the underpass that leads to East Coast Park.

Recently, I noticed some slight changes in Dash. 1st: he's able to behave better when I leash him up. Perhaps, he came to understand that I will "reward" him by giving him some "freedom" when there are lesser people around. I would praise him for behaving well. 2ndly: He reached puberty so he tends to behave "more gentlemanly" in front of a female than with a male dog.

After about an hour of walk, Dash would be panting with lots of saliva dripping. hahaha.. disgusting right? well, dogs' mouth and tongue are their only outlet of heat and perspiration. Now, he's cooling off by drinking from the pond water.

Football "competition"

My company organised a football competition @ the CAGE. its an indoor football centre in Kallang. I'm just the spectator (contributing the clapping, cheers and jeers). Below are the footballers. About half of them are from my department - infrastructure. The rest are from power and site. Each team got a unique and funny names (for egs: GOALRILLA, GOALDIGGER, No Horse Run (Translate in Hokkien: Sure Win), Optimus Prime (Transformer?), etc)

Saw the bo-tak on your extreme rite? He's my GM. his nick name is Dr Evil.. cos of his bald head. His team's name is Dr Evil & the Chinese Butchers. Aiyo, such an interesting name. They were the champions!

In-line skating

Haven't been blading for about 6 months. Today, I took out by gears to skate together with Xiuyi. She just bought her new skates and would like to try it.

Our plans were to start from the chalet, then to Fort Road and lastly we stop @ Bedok Jetty to catch the fire works!

The beach is quite packed with campers, holiday makers, cyclist.. blah blah. We told ourselves to skate carefully along the mac-donald sketch because we were not too good at stopping. After about an hour or so of non-stop blading, we decided to have a break @ Burger King however on our way there, I tripped over a BIG seed and fell. Luckily I had my knee & hand guards however my left elbow was not spared. Its not too painful but its rather embarrassing. I quickly stand up and skate our way to Burger King so to wash up my wound.

I hurt my left elbow about 1.5 years ago (& its scarred), now its my left elbow. my two poor elbows. I will wear my elbow guards on my next trip. (this is the "dried up wound" after 1 week)

We got our way to the jetty and waited patiently for the fireworks. Due to the location, we din really enjoy the fire works cos its too far and no sound effects

Gym Freak?

I got my 1 month free Califonia Fitness membership FREE.. thanks to xiuyi & lichun. with this membership, we got a free personal trainer session next saturday! We tried the "intro step" class. With its name, you must have thought that its an introductory class to STEPS. you are WRONG! we were struggling and trying our best to keep up the pace. its crazy but fun. likely its only an hour.

Yoga-mania

I missed practicing yoga, actually so I managed to persuade Xiuyi to join the class @ SSC. The class was full of "experts". dun be deceived by their age (mostly uncles and aunties) and their shape (plumb). they r so flexible (imagine a big spare tyre ard them yet they can bend here and there). I'm not pressured by them though becos yoga is not about going beyond your abilities but its about understanding your own body and pushing to your OWN limit. My yoga teacher uses alot of those hindu names.. which i do not understand but nevermind i just look around at what others are doing.

The class started with some breathing exercises (in Easy pose) then followed by

Sun Saluation: it consists of mountain pose, plank pose, dog pose, cobra pose, downward dog.. blah blah. After one cycle, my heart will beat faster and my body feeling warm.

Spinal Twist: I love this pose becos it stretches my spinal cord and my upper body. my ex yoga coach once mentioned that this pose squeezes our internal organs. Imagine a wet rug and u twist it to squeeze the water out.

Wind-relieving pose: hmm.. wondering if you will fart after performing this pose? I will.. hehe. but i tahan until the end of the class if not it will be so embarassing as the class is usually quite.

Shoulder standing pose: i cant do this pose today cos of my monthly problem. my frd, xiuyi was sooo funny. she told me that she was struggling with this pose. Though the coach was there to help, she was rather forceful.

Corpse pose (its the last pose of the routine. my coach was great, she switched off the lights, light up the candles.. wow amzing. one of my classmate fell asleep and SNOZE!
